What is it? The Caribbean Herbal Cluster is a cross-border, inter-enterprise co-operation of six private companies covering four countries in the Caribbean Region, and manufacturing unique herbal based products.
Why was it created?
Co-operation, synergy-effects, collective actions, and joint response to competitiveness in the global economy are some of the main reasons for forming the cluster. Tackling business obstacles collectively, by exchanging of information, realizing cost savings, economies of scale, complementary resources, sharing risks, strengthening the value chain, creating new joint structures (access to new markets, distribution, production, procurement, new business), and joint problem-solving are the brainchild objectives of such an ambtitious collective drive.
When was it launched?
The Caribbean Herbal Cluster was officially launched on April 5th 2006, in St. Lucia, West Indies.
